Lithographic prints generated from hand-made pin-hole cameras built from tin-cans — the eye of the camera becoming the eye-spot of the algae.
Practice-based research developed as part of a Masters of Research: how analogue and digital photographic techniques can be used to reveal an understanding of the micro-organic forms of algae and their macro agency, shifting human perception about ecological intelligence.
The objectified algae becomes a hypothetical subject. The pin-hole is the algae's photosynthetic captor returned, inverted, as a printmaking apparatus.
