A prototype repurposing indoor domestic space to host a synthetic microbial community — a self-cleaning shower without industrial solvents.
Devised with Xavier Philips, Rose Leahy and Juanma Garcia (scientist) over a two-day workshop. The shower's humidity, dampness and warmth host Sphingomonas and Methylobacteria on the curtain and Aspergillus niger and Mycobacterium avium on the tile-grout.
Built within the constraints of found materials in the Makerversity workshop space.
